The Fred Harris Memorial Library is located on the second floor of Riverview Health Care Center. This is a place where our elders can have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a real, working library. The library includes a large variety of books and magazines, computers, a smart TV, and e-Readers.

The staff consists of two volunteers, both of whom are retired professors from the local community college. One served as a librarian, the other taught writing and developmental studies. Their work experience and professional collaborations make them uniquely qualified to identify resources and provide services that enrich the lives of residents.

We strive to meet the needs of library users, whatever they may be. Programming is driven by the residents' interests: examples include how birds survive in winter and how chocolate is made. Resources support their needs and preferences. We have e-Readers for those who have low vision and/or have difficulty managing a physical book. We have books, puzzles and games that are designed for those who required memory support. In this library we read, celebrate, learn, sing, and laugh a lot!

The staff at Riverview works hard to create a warm family feeling so that elders are comfortable during their stay.
