- A propos de ma bibliothèque
- All of the books in my library I own, though lately my "read but unowned" collection has been exploding, due to my inability to leave the library after my shift empty-handed. There are just too many interesting things in the world!
Also, I somehow managed to choose a major in university that ranks among the highest for quantities of required reading. Most of the theoretical and classic anthropology, religion, and gender books were originally purchased for a class (and are slowly being donated as I will never live long enough to read them all).
A note on tags: I only tagged books as "read" if I had read the book in its entirety recently enough to remember major plot points and how much I liked it (basically, after puberty). Those marked "TBR" are ones that I either haven't read at all, or if they were required for a university course, I either wasn't required to read all of it, or had to read it so quickly that I only remember vague ideas in it. "TBR" also means I do have the intention of reading the book sometime in the future. - A propos de moi
- I am a former pastry chef and perpetual student; I hope to get my MLIS in the not-too-distant future, but for now I am in that limbo-land of "am a librarian or not?" I do public services and acquisitions at my small-town public library, which means I do a bit of everything except fighting with the higher powers (which is how I like it).
What you can probably tell by my library: I am a crafty feminist food-loving info nerd who has thought far too much about religious mythology in pop culture.
What you probably can't tell by my library: I am an oft-pierced Minnesota-born Anglophile (though I consider Boston a kind of 'hometown') with a physical urge to buy anything with a paisley pattern on it. - Lieu (géographique)
