Conversation with the previous owner of our house when we viewed it:

[on entering one of the bedrooms, which had a whole wall of built-in bookcases]

Owner: Oh, that was here when we bought it. You could rip it out pretty easily.
Me: [grinning from ear to ear] Absolutely not - it's my library!

The husband knew right then that we'd be buying the house.

I will be cataloguing my library on here as and when life permits. It's currently around a 50:50 mix of fiction and non-fiction. Fiction-wise, my favourite genre is SF & Fantasy, particularly from the Victorian period through to the mid Twentieth Century. Aside from this, I read pretty generally with quite an eclectic mix on my shelves spanning historical periods and genres.
A propos de moi
I can't remember a time that I didn't love reading. I was lucky to have a mum who read with me from the earliest age possible and encouraged my love of books.

When I don't have my head in a book, you can usually find me climbing mountains (currently working my way through the Wainwrights in the Lake District), shooting archery and playing boardgames.
