I regularly reread the favorite books I read as a child, up to age 13. This includes authors such as Allison Uttlley, Elizabeth Goudge, Joan Aiken and Olive Douglas, Frances Hodgeson Burnet, Edith Nesbit

At 13 I was at boarding school in Folkestone & a friend and I asked at the town library if we could read some books in the adult section. They let us loose on the Sci Fi section, starting for me a lifetime obsession. The library didn't reallise how subversive Sci Fi is -engendering open minds, lateral thinking, open imagination, a quirky sense of humour, the belief that coffee is drunk in every alternate universe in every time etc.

In mature adult life,I read hard sci fi and quality sci fantasy by such authors as Sherri Tepper and Marge Piercy.
I read books that have a sense of Jung and magic,by the best women authors- Amy Tan, Isabelle Alleande & Joanne Harris,Marge Piercy and more.
I also read Clive Cussler & Wilber Smith- for no good reason- pure escapism!

Other than that I rely on the serandipady of our local Charity Shops to provide me with interesting reading- I buy Penguins, Virago & other quality publishers reading anything from biography of important women- the Mitfords, Vita Sackville West etc- 20th century fiction by women authors such as Margaret Drabble, Virginia Woolfe and the wide range in Virago.- and an eclectic range of qualty fiction I aquire.

I am of mid century birth,and mental age ranging from 10 to infinity in regards to what I read. I live in Halifax,West Yorkshire, England,in the middle of the Pennines.I am in town but five minutes from the most beautiful hilly counryside.I have two cats, two grown up children and a husband.I buy and sell texiles,sewing items,fun jewellery and other bits I like on Ebay-as pinkemilygrace- and at markets.I also sell at the Builth Wells International Antique Fair twice a year. The cats Tigger and Sophie come too- they love travelling and spent two summers living with us in the caravan on the antique fair circuit.
