À mon sujetRetired college English and journalism teacher with rare and indolent-but-incurable blood cancer. Not above using cancer fatigue as an excuse to get out of doing things I don't want to so that I have more time to read.

Cats, husband, one kid, indoor plumbing, central heating, electric range--pretty much the whole shebang. I enjoy knitting, gardening, feeding birds and cooking if it's not too hot; otherwise, make yourself a sandwich.

Pleasures include coffee, butter tarts, yarn stores, corvids, Salvation Army bell ringers, Eddie Izzard, bakelite buttons, and drive-in movies. Many of these can be enjoyed simultaneously.

I am not drawn to mysteries/crime (except domestic thrillers), YA, historical fiction, or romances. I especially enjoy dystopian novels and books about nuns. But there are exceptions to all of the above.

Since I retired I try to come up with a reading theme each year, but I don't set quotas, keep lists, or record stuff. Just here for the chitty-chat.
