A propos de ma bibliothèque
I am a fairly eclectic reader, though most of my reading of late is fiction. I read about 100 books a year. The primary genres are romance, fantasy, science fiction, and suspense in both adult and young adult titles.

I try to read indie authors as much as possible. With changes in publishing, more and more authors are leaving major publishers and going independent or have hybrid careers. I like to support those authors who are good writers and storytellers no matter how they have chosen to publish.
A propos de moi
I am fortunate to now spend the majority of my time journeying into the world of my imagination and writing novels that reflect my passions and my belief that strong women can do anything, that the good guys win in the end, and that love will conquer all.

My Past Life

Both triumph and tragedy have shaped me into who I am. Like most women, I've survived illness, heartache, and disappointment. And somehow I found real love and passion in the end. Yes, the kind that you read about in romance novels really does exist!

Writing has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I probably got the bug to publish when I was in 4th grade and placed second in a national writing contest. I was invited to read my story at an assembly and I thought, "Now, this would be the life." However, publication came first for me in the form of non-fiction articles in magazines and newspapers and eventually in textbooks (four have been published to date). I found some early success in short stories in Science Fiction and Romance in the 1980's, but didn't pursue novel writing until 2004. Now, novels are where my heart is and I feel very blessed to be able to spend the majority of my waking hours following this long time dream.

My career overo the past 30+ years has included five years as a Family and Marriage Counselor working with families with severely disabled children; eight years in the software industry, and academic appoints at various universities ranging from Professor to Department Director and to Dean. I ended my academic career as a Chief Technology Officer. My educational background is in psychology, counseling, computer science, and education. Yes, I have far too many degrees. I just couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to be when I grew up, and being in constant debt seemed like an interesting challenge.

Somehow I found a way to satisfy both my left and right brain and fashioned a career that could do that by choosing positions that would use my people skills, my love of adaptive technologies, and my desire to be a teacher and mentor.
