- A propos de ma bibliothèque
- My tastes tend to run to modern literary fiction. I'm especially appreciative of a great short story collection. I read very little non-fiction, but when I do, it's usually about medieval history (particularly English and Eastern European) or English etymology/philology. I refuse to read a book with any of the following on the cover: a high heel, a martini glass, anything hot pink, and the word "shopaholic" or any permutation thereof. My library contains none of the following genres or authors: self-improvement/motivational, Stephen King, chick lit, romance, Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson.
Note: I've decided to be selfish about this library and tag books in ways that are meaningful to me, so I'm eschewing useful tags like "fiction" or "history" in favor of tags like "meh" and "i want this!". So there. - A propos de moi
- I'm an erstwhile librarian who has gotten sucked into IT, but I'll always take books over computers. As you'll see in the next section, I'm cranky and picky about what I will and won't read. And get ready for some heresy: I can't stand Oprah or her book club. More heresy: I've never read a Harry Potter book and I don't plan to.
