A propos de moi: I lived fifteen years in Asia, first in Japan for seven years where I met my Fujian-born husband. Then we moved to Singapore for 8 years.
During that time, among other things, I wrote for media in seven countries (i.e. National Public Radio, Writer's Digest, Hemispheres,Islands Magazine, Singapore Straits Times, Japan Times, Saigon Times and dozens of others.) Then one year, when my husband and I were visiting his village, I got an idea for a novel. In July 2006, My Half of the Sky was published (KOMENAR Publishing).
National Booksense chose My Half of the Sky as an August 2006 Pick of the Month. Forbes chose the title for their book club. The title received Notable Mention in Eric Hoffer's Best New Fiction Awards, was shortlisted in the Popular Fiction Category of the Benjamin Franklin 2007 Awards and was given Honorable Mention in the Literary Fiction Category of the 2007 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards.
I'm currently working on a sequel.
