À mon sujetThere is little or nothing that I could say in this short a space that would meaningfully describe me. Those who know me will need no introduction. Those who do not should feel free to come over for coffee sometime, whenever they are next in my part of the world.

À propos de ma bibliothèqueHaving browsed some of the statistics that the program generates, I realize that my library is not entirely representative of my actual reading habits. The author cloud, for example, would seem to indicate that I am a great reader of Bakunin, Chomsky, and Dickens, whereas I have never actually read Bakunin, have read only very little Chomsky, and have disliked every word I ever read of Dickens.

The statistics page is similarly skewed because I am using the date field, against the programer's intentions, to record the original date of the work rather than the date when the particular edition was published, so the program now informs me that the average edition date in my collection is in the early 1900s, which is most certainly untrue.

Also, because I am using the tag system mostly to identify media types other than books, to track loans, and to identify some of the books I use for teaching, even the tag cloud is entirely uninformative.

In other words, viewers of my library should consider themselves fairly warned against drawing any conclusions about my reading interests and habits based upon what the program might indicate. Those who are interested in what those interests and habits might be are welcome to ask.
