A propos de ma bibliothèque

Eclectic. Lots of space science, history, leadership, management, and a bit of sci fi (for good measure). I occasionally wander into the classics and get lost.

A propos de moi

I am an instructional designer, scuba instructor, and college professor with a passion for incorporating technology in education. My teaching expertise spans a diverse range of subjects, including astronomy, English, management, leadership, math, national security, space operations, and history.

Currently, I'm exploring the potential of using generative AI large language models to develop tailored course materials. Some of my summaries are written by a tool I'm building based on OpenAI's ChatGPT. Summaries written by that tool (named Alex -- as in the Great Library of Alexandria) are clearly identified in the footer of the summary. If there are no footers, then the summary is the work of yours truly....

Regarding my (non AI) book reviews: They tend to be positive because I read for pleasure, not critique. If a book fails to captivate, entertain, or interest me, I simply don't finish it. And if I don't finish a book, I don't review it. I also write key point summaries for a lot of the non-fiction I read. Peruse my reviews and you will find key points, passages, and notes on applicability for today.
