Before I moved to San Francisco I used to somewhat obsessively peruse used book sales and library sale books, picking anything that interested me. I doubt I've read even half of the books on my shelves, but it's fun to know that they're there. One of the cool things about buying used books is finding books that were once gifts, and were signed as such. I've made a note of such inscriptions, and tagged them all.

So far I seem to have had luck collecting poetry which I never read, bizarre reference works I never use (dictionary.com and wikipedia ftw), a large number of different editions of Walden, and a signed copy of almost every book Kim Stanley Robinson's put out.
