The books and music cover several topics as shown by the category names. The "1939..." category directly or indirectly concerns the location and time of my interest despite the titles seeming to not be for that category.

A propos de moi
I'm interested in life in southern California* in the year 1939. It was a grand year in many ways: popular culture, industrial design, books, economic improvement from the depths of the Depression, isolation from what would become WWII and the beginnings of hot rodding to name a few topics.

I'm a model railroader who belongs to a club focusing on the '20s, '30s and into the '50s (see website link below).

*specifically, the area about halfway between Pasadena and San Bernardino along the Santa Fe Railway and Pacific Electric routes.
