A propos de ma bibliothèque
Luckily for me, my mother has been the director of libraries since I was young; so my library is in fact the public library where I spent a good deal of time growing up and where I can request any book I like to have it show up for free in one to two shipping days. Of course a building full of books can sometimes have too many choices for just one woman and I usually end up reading two or three books at the same time (there's so much out there how could it be any other way?): one fiction and one non. Fiction gets pretty wide-ranging, anything from political satires involving teddy bears (Winkie) to stories of the beauty of simply life (The Brooklyn Follies) to the occasional futuristic, apocolyptic side of things (Oryx and Crake), though very sporadically.

Non fiction tends towards science (my own personal field), much about water, and a good deal of biographies. I usually end up combining those three. Recently, I aquired a box of books more along the lines of political theory, religion or lack thereof, and social theory, all of which have intrigued me into a bit of diversification. Change is always good.

My actual physical bookcases and shelves at home hold all these things as well as a number of things I refuse to let go from childhood like The Polar Express (which I still read aloud during Christmas), several Shel Silverstiens, and glossily illustrated versions of the classics. Throw in a few old text books, oceanographic field guides, crafters' books, and The Zombie Survival Guide (never ask for something 'useful' from a sibling for a present), and that is my library in a nutshell.
