A propos de ma bibliothèque
My library is a love supreme.
I have greatly downsized my library over the years donating
thousands of books to libraries. So what currently remains in my library generally reflects what I consider to be the best of the best as well as recent acquisitions. The library reflects my dominant intellectual interests over the last 40 years which embrace the Holocaust, genocide, violence, crime, sexual behavior,
sexual identity, sexual correctness, sexual politics.

A propos de moi
Emeritus Professor Barry Dank, Cal State Long Beach,
sociology; major areas of study- sexual politics,
sociology of sexual behavior, crime, violence, the
Holocaust. Have edited a number of books relating to sexuality;see my library for specifics. In the early 70s, wrote an article on "Coming Out in the Gay World" which some have regarded as a classic article which has gone thru a number of reprintings. Outspoken advocate on gay rights issues in the 70s. Also in 70s heavily involved in Holocaust education. In the 90s became a leading critic of the movement to ban student-professor fraternization which
led me to be be the founder of Consenting Academics
for Sexual Equity (CASE), and to be the co-founder and
editor-in-chief of SEXUALITY & CULTURE, a quarterly
academic journal. I presently live in Tubac, Arizona
with my wife, Henrietta Dank, who I met and dated while she was a student in one of my classes and who is a poet and performance artist, often performing and reading in
Tucson.
