A propos de ma bibliothèque
I collect books about anything and everything that catches my attention. My recent focus is on paranormal romance, suspense, erotica, and fantasy. I also have a collection of books on a variety of new age topics and philosophy, as well as sexuality. I have only a small fraction of my library posted so far, but am updating my account with more books as I'm able.

I also just recently got a Nook, the Barnes & Noble eBook reader. I am adding heavily to my eBook library as a result of the convenience I now have to carry the entire library with me wherever I go.

I also use Calibre to manage my eBook library. You can find out more about it at http://calibre-ebook.com/. I'm hopeful that LibraryThing will eventually be able to interface with it and the libraries it accesses someday so that I can upload a catalogue of my eBooks without having to manually enter them all.

Sadly, until LibraryThing links into content from the ePublishers (or Calibre), I have hundreds of eBooks that do not show up in my library. They either don't have ISBN numbers or have ones that don't register in the system. It would simply take way too long to enter them all by hand. I'll be adding them as I have the time, or if I can ever get the upload feature to work.

I rarely list any books under "currently reading" simply because I read them fast enough to make it an effort in futility. I would rather keep reading--that book or a new one--rather than spend the time to continually change my reading status.
A propos de moi
An admitted bibliophile, I read voraciously. I usually have one or more books that I am reading at a time. I am well educated and intellectual. Yet, I am still a hopeless romantic at heart who truly believes "there are more things in heaven and earth, (...) Than are dreamt of in our philosophy.” That is why I love books.

I'm a LibraryThing Early Reviewer and have begun posting reviews of other books I read as well.

My opinion ratings are roughly as follows:

5 Stars = The Very Best. Extremely Rare. A work of literary art and destined to be a classic. The epitome of its genre. I'll read this book over and over again, and never get bored with the story. I will search out this author's works. Will recommend this book to others. VERY Positive Buzz.

4 - 4.5 Stars = Very good. I will read this book again. If it is part of a series, I'll search out all the others and eagerly await the next book in the series. I will look for this author's work in the future. Memorable. May talk up this book with others. Positive Buzz.

3 - 3.5 Stars = A decent or good book. It was worth reading, but not compelling. The writing likely has significant flaws that detract from the overall story. I may or may not read something from the author again. Not really worth mentioning to friends.

2 - 2.5 Stars = Poor. I didn't like the book. There may have been serious flaws with the writing or story that made it difficult to read. It would require a compelling reason for me to read this author's work again.

1.5 Stars = A waste of my time and effort. There went X Hours that I will never get back. I don't understand why a company would actually publish such a book. I won't read this author again. Moderately offensive to me, usually on intellectual grounds. May give this book and author Negative Buzz if it comes up in discussions.

1 Star = Truly offensive. I will not read this author again. Furthermore, I will tell others not to read this author. Will actively give such a book and author Negative Buzz.
