A propos de ma bibliothèque
For the past 120 years, the Institute Library has focused primarily on collecting titles of popular fiction, mysteries, and general-interest non-fiction. Its shelves continue to feature both classics and forgotten titles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

We have recently begun to diversify our collection with the acquisition of more literary titles, poetry, books by local authors, and books relating to social history, public space, collections and exhibitions, and the book arts.

Library members continue to play an important role in determining our acquisitions and are invited to review and discuss new titles in our collection here with Library Thing. If you are an Institute Library member and would like to recommend a new title for purchase, reserve a book to borrow, or ask a question about any of our holdings, please feel free to email us through our website, www.institutelibrary.org, or call (203) 752-7410.
A propos de moi
The Institute Library (founded 1826) is New Haven, Connecticut's oldest independent circulating library and one of the last remaining membership libraries in North America. Conveniently located on Chapel Street in downtown New Haven, the Library provides its members with quiet reading areas and a large circulating collection of up-to-date literature.
