I like the humor of Wambaugh that threads through his novels. In contrast, I am a big fan of the gripping irony and poignant descriptions found in the works of Solzhenitsyn. Novels that attract me have a believable and edgy theme with real people as the principle characters. I’m not into fantasy and the surreal. I have read the works of Bruce Catton and Shelby Foote in an effort to better understand the American Civil War. And yes, our greatest president is Abraham Lincoln.

Thad McAfee is a retired engineer and now resides with his wife and dog Sissy the Spaniel near Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He is a Civil War buff and a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction. Born and raised in the Midwest, his stories reflect growing up in small town Americana.
