A propos de ma bibliothèque
This free lending library has an emphasis on missionary stories, but also includes biographies of other Christians, books for those considering missions or wanting to support missionaries, and intercessors, as well as books to inspire you in your Christian walk. This is a unique collection: Many are so old that they don't even have an ISBN number ... they're fabulous reading you may not be able to find anywhere else.

If you're in the Twin Cities area, peruse the books here and let me know if you'd like to borrow any ... or arrange a time for me to bring the collection of books to your group meeting. You can contact me through facebook (Alyce-Kay Hanush) or email me at isaiah3020@yahoo.com (if you email, please include "Romans1015 library" in the subject line; recontact me if you don't hear back from me within a couple days). There are over 200 books in this collection ... getting them processed in LibraryThing a little at a time.

To find a book ... one of the ways to look is by tags. Most of my tags have to do with age groups. These are basically a reflection of my opinion of reading level and probable interest. There are books that may be marked "teens, adults, family reading." That's because the reading itself is probably too difficult for the average third grader, but I think that the subject matter would be good to read as a family. (Please see my note below about family reading.)

There are a few books marked as "favorite." These are my personal all-time favorites.

Books marked "sending" or "support" are especially of interest to those families and individuals who want to know how to best support or be involved in sending missionaries. Those marked "calling" would be good to read if you think you may be called to the mission field.

I should mention that the ones marked "family reading" are ones that I think are appropriate to read aloud as a family. However, you should look at the book yourself to be certain the subject matter is appropriate for your own family. Some of the books I've marked "family reading" include martyrdom. I don't find that inappropriate for young children, but many people do. So please, don't just trust my labels.

By the way, I believe you can make comments on books -- please feel free to! I probably won't have time to write reviews for every book in this library and would appreciate the help.

AT THE MOMENT: I also have postcards that I'm letting kids choose from (to keep), to add to or start a postcard collection. Not sure how long these will last. :-)
