- A propos de moi
- My parents called me a "bookworm." My husband used to hide my current "read," so I'd pay more attention to him. I still cherish the summer memories of walking to the small town library near our cottage as a child...can still hear the creak of the wooden floor, smell that wondrous scent only books in congregation can emit, hear the librarian - stamping the inside covers. I'd trudge home laden with the book "limit," trying to decide which to read first. I still treasure time spared for reading and also collect old books, especially antique illustrated books and those with decorative covers. I've continued my high school English teacher's directive to alternate between fiction and non-fiction. The same teacher fined students for any marks made in a book. Thankfully, a college professor cured me of that, and each of my books is almost biographical, considering the underlinings and comments I pencil in. I'm a writer of sorts too, a communications director for a major company, where I write articles and press releases and internal news. Someday...yes, someday, I will write something of my own. I have a few short essays on my web site messageintheforest.com, also called lovecarvings.com. Ah, so that's why such a unique user name. Ha!
