À mon sujet**************************************************************

I am a college student and aspiring historian who is head over heels for librarything.com! It's the most addictive website ever!

I love nothing more than a book that makes me laugh and cry and dream all at once-- my favorite book of all time being Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre". Masterpiece.

My eternal thanks to my Mama for teaching me to read from her "dowry", (children's books collected from her days as a librarian), my Daddy for reading a book to me every night when I was little, and my dear Mee-Maw for insuring that I was home-schooled, so that by the age of nine I was reading "Little Women", and not what the public school system was making me read. ;)

*A Few of My Favorite Quotes:*

"A room without books is like a body without a soul." -Cicero

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." -C.S. Lewis

"I have good reason to be content, for thank God I can read and perhaps understand Shakespeare to his depths."
-John Keats

"It is, as you know, difficult for admirers of Shakespeare to restrain themselves once they have begun to speak of him."
-Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen)

"The dearest ones of time, the strongest friends of the soul--BOOKS."
-Emily Dickinson

"When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library." -Jane Austen

"Loneliness had taught Harriet that there was always someone who understood - it was just so often that they were dead, and in a book."
-from 'A Company of Swans' by Eva Ibbotson

"The shelf was filled with books that were hard to read, that could devastate and remake one's soul, and that, when they were finished, had a kick like a mule."
-from 'Winter's Tale' by Mark Helprin

"From that time on, the world was hers for the reading."
-from 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn' by Betty Smith

"If I'm honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all." -Audrey Hepburn

"I do love secondhand books that open to the page some previous owner read oftenest. The day Hazlitt came he opened to "I hate to read new books," and I hollered "Comrade!" to whoever owned it before me."
-Helene Hanff

"I love knowledge. In fact I yearn for it."
-from the TV show "Designing Women"

À propos de ma bibliothèqueJust warning you, I love Jane Eyre, so I compare pretty much every book I read to it. Shamelessly. But I don't care. :)

I will also read ANYTHING with, or about Paris. Je t'aime Paris.

I also love nothing more than plays and poetry, and I love fairy tale retellings and dystopic fiction. Guilty pleasure.

I do NOT want to go into exhausting detail over my collection, so let us just say that I have the books I want to read classified by "want to read", than in the collection, "To Read", and then tagged "read next".
Also, books that are classified as "hurry up and read!" mean that they are MINE, and I WILL read them. Eventually!

You already know my favorite book, so a few of my favorite authors are Isak Dinesen, Willa Cather, Edith Wharton, and Alexandre Dumas.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions for me, or if I can offer any suggestions for you, I would be happy to help! Happy reading one and all!!!
