A propos de ma bibliothèque
About my library: Books all over the apartment, and some in storage closet in carport. Many oldold and dear, some I got from publishers when I was "The Book Hustler" on KOSU-fm, Stillwater, OK, many years ago. (Got that job after being interviewed by Susan Stamberg on NPR.) Because I have been a bad lender I fell into being one-who-tells-about and still do that, tho I've lent a few recently (and gotten them back!) Pleased to have gotten books via Early Reviewers (tho 2 were “on-line" and vanished after I'd read them). Our many moves “refined” our holdings. Almost every book in the place merits rereading (or at least dipping into). It is fun finding people on LT who share my thoughts, and I am grateful for the stimulation I find here.
A propos de moi
I cannot remember a time when I didn't read. . . and as I am 91 now, that means a lot of books. I've not cataloged all I have (since when I joined I had no idea LT would become so interesting, and that the books-shoved-behind might really be worth sharing!) My husband and I live in Rossmoor, a “senior community” which has a library and three swimming pools among its amenities. (The pools are far better than the library so I have been glad to get some Early Reviewers books.) Living in the Bay Area of California has many benefits, not the least the opportunity to see/hear/chat with authors as they make book tours. Among the ones we’ve found interesting the prize (hands down!) goes to Ivan Doig who recognized me from the letters we’d exchanged when I was in Oklahoma. To my surprise Flickr shows pictures I've made tho they are not photos~~~ I am estawolf there: find 'em and comment if you will!
