In 1980 the Sea Grant Program opened its headquarters at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. In the same year the CRIEM was founded in order to accommodate the Sea Grant publications and other resources related to marine science. The primary goal of CRIEM is to disseminate knowledge concerning coastal and marine resources of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
A propos de moi
The University of Puerto Rico Sea Grant College Program possesses an extensive collection of publications and resources related to marine and coastal topics. In the Marine Information and Education Resources Center (CRIEM- for its acronym in Spanish) you will be able to access magazines and books that are published by other Sea Grant College Programs, as well as our own publications, documents from government agencies, and scientific research papers, amongst other resources.

The CRIEM is located in the Physics Building of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (UPRM), in room 310. Alessandra Otero is the information professional in charge of the Center.

This Center is an excellent source of information for those that need to conduct research for a school project or for a university assignment. If you need to consult publications or documents that are available at the CRIEM, contact the Sea Grant Program (Puerto Rico). The contact information is listed below.
