The mission of the Center for Professional Development and Training (CPDT) is to provide learning opportunities to University employees to develop the knowledge and skills needed to perform in their diverse roles of serving students and supporting the learning process. By partnering with departments at the University, CPDT offers expertise, resources, and training to assist them in developing consistent and effective delivery of employee learning programs.

CPDT was established July, 2003 to align professional development and training initiatives with institutional goals through collaborative efforts with other departments. The center offers a wide range of professional, managerial and computer courses for staff and faculty using instructor-led and web-based training interventions. The University encourages all members to become lifelong learners by providing subsidies for undergraduate and graduate level courses taken at UNF, and providing educational leave opportunities (pending available funds). Tuition waivers for faculty and staff are available through the Employee Educational Assistance Program.
