À mon sujet
That isn't me - it's Kevin the Vicarage Cat - now resting forever in the garden.
À propos de ma bibliothèque
My library is diminishing - in physical size - daily. We are shortly (May 2022) moving to a modest 3 bed semi but we have spent the last 30-odd years living in large (at least 5 bedroomed) detached vicarages with book cases in every room (apart from the bathroom). The advent of ebooks has helped as there are not many books that I must; have in paper format. Although, at the moment there seems to be over 1,900! Discarding books is not something that I can do in one fell swoop but I can manage a few every week. Some have been sold - my Chalet School hardback collection was more valuable than I thought - some have gone to friends or charity shops, and there were even a few that were in such bad condition that the paper recycling bin was the only place for them.
Trying to look on the bright side: I shall have the pleasure of arranging my book cases and then my books in a fresh new location.
Kevin the Vicarage Cat, recently a Cheshire Cat, is no longer with us and we miss him every day, but the new house is closer to a main road and is currently part of a building site, so it may be for the best that we will leave him in a peaceful country garden.
