A propos de ma bibliothèque

My main collection focuses on detective and mystery fiction and the Golden Age is my favorite period. I own almost all of Agatha Christie's, Rex Stout's (the Nero Wolf ones), Dorothy Sayers' (the Lord Peter Wimsey ones), and Harry Kemelman (the Rabbi Small ones) books and stories. I'm working on collecting PD James, Georges Simenon, and the Best Mysteries of All Time by Readers Digest printed by Impress. My favorite way to find books is poking around used bookstores. Each one, especially the Best Mysteries of All Time, feels like finding a treasure. One quirk of mine is that I've never looked up how many of those were (or maybe still are being) printed since I like to think there are always more out there to find.

It's really past time that I catalog all of my other books so maybe this is the year to do that, but participating in four bookclubs (2023) and reading for fun doesn’t leave much time for cataloging!

A propos de moi

Other than reading my hobbies are knitting, crochet, embroidery, bird feeding, jewelry making, sewing, journaling, and soon I plan to make journals from scratch using the papers and chipboard I've been saving up.
