A propos de moi

I read all sorts of things: novels, poetry, history, biography, art, and travel writing. I post reviews and thoughts, mostly on books, but sometimes on exhibitions and other bits and pieces. I am also a contributor to The Aeolian Revue and The Bubble.

I am a philosophy PhD student at Durham University. My main research is focused around Everyday Aesthetics and the nature of our aesthetic engagement with the objects, activities, environments, and general phenomena of daily life. My aim is to develop a theoretical framework which accommodates this kind of engagement and awareness. This involves engaging with debates in the philosophy of mind, perception, the senses, and the nature of aesthetic experience, judgement and appreciation. I’m also interested in ethics, the philosophy of art, epistemology, emotion, and the philosophy of travel. There is more information on my Academia.edu page.
