An Open Book Foundation (AOB) is a local non-profit organization that promotes literacy among low-income children and teens in the greater Washington, DC area by bringing the highest caliber, multi-award winning authors and illustrators to over 90 schools and institutions with disadvantaged students in grades ranging from Headstart to 12th. Each student who attends one of these events receives a signed copy of the book from AOB, and the schools’ libraries and classrooms also receive
books.
