(English translation - "Mr. Director von Hagen in memory of the joint journey through Greece. Jena 21.9.1935".) with photograph of Wilhelm Dörpfeld from Autumn 1935. Wilhelm Dörpfeld (1853-1940) was an archaeologist. He is best known as Heinrich Schliemann's assistant helping him excavate Troy. After retiring, he lectured at the University of Jena during the 1920s and mid 1930s.
