An excerpt from an interview with Neuroscientist Dr. Sam Harris:

“Everyone spends almost every moment of their waking life having an inner conversation with themselves (unconsciously thinking). And this conversation has a character that is typically unhappy. It’s mostly worrying about the future, or regretting the past, or judging everything around you.

Or you’re just distracted from things you are trying to pay attention to. Right? It’s hard to even read a page of text and get to the bottom of it without being de-railed like 15 times by your own thoughts.

So this automaticity of thought goes uninspected. Whose character is at best benign but often very unpleasant. Which is formative of our psychological states moment to moment and produces negative emotions like anxiety, and envy and shame and on and on.

And we live with this for basically every moment of our waking lives and meditation is a way of noticing that (unconscious processes of the mind). To the point of actually breaking the spell.

So you are no longer identified with the thoughts that would otherwise make you miserable. It becomes something of a doorway out of ordinary forms of suffering.

This is orthogonal to all the research that’s telling us this is one of the best things you can do for your well-being!”

FACTS (Explained throughout this book)

• If you’re a human being, then you spend about half your waking moments unconsciously thinking (asleep while awake). “A wandering mind is an unhappy one” - Killingsworth and Gilbert, DOI: 10.1126/science.1192439

• Unconscious thinking is the function of a large scale brain network called the Default Mode Network.

• If you’re unconsciously thinking, then you’re asleep while awake.

• If you’re asleep while awake, then you’re focusing all your attention on the autonomous self-conversation, self-dialogue that occurs inside everyone’s mind.

• If you’re focusing all of your attention on the autonomous self-conversations of the thinking mind or Default Mode Network, then you miss out on the real world (5 senses).

• If you miss out on the real world by the lack of focus on the 5 senses, then you’re probably unhappy.

• 1 in 4 adults in the US are prescribed mental health medications.

• All mental health diseases, like stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, Alzheimer’s, autism, sleep disorders, eating disorders, addictions, anger, violence, suffering, etc. are the results of unaware attention and identification to the auto-suggestions of the autonomous unconscious thinking mind or Default Mode Network (Primitive Egoic Mind).

• The benefits of meditation are available to EVERYONE right now and are always FREE; with or without mental health diseases.

• Meditation is not equivalent to sitting cross-legged in a lotus position looking like you’re sleeping.

• Meditation is not not doing anything.

• Meditation is the awareness of focusing your attention on your surroundings by the use of your 5 senses at any one time.

• When you’re meditating, you’re conscious and experiencing the real world through the use of your 5 senses.

• When you’re not meditating during awake times, then you’re unconscious following the matrix of the Primitive Mind.

• If you don’t suffer from mental disease, you’re still unconscious about half your waking moments following the auto-suggestions from the Default Mode Network.

• Meditation significantly reduces or completely eradicates stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhances peace, memory, attention, perception, focus, awareness, self-concept, and well-being. It increases imagination, creativity, patience, tolerance, acceptance, and compassion. It eliminates negative emotions and feelings and lowers heart rate, blood pressure and improves sleep along with incalculable other benefits. Research is ongoing to better understand the positive effects of meditation on health (psychological, neurological, and cardiovascular) and other areas.

• Meditation will connect your brain to itself in orders of magnitude, as proven by science (see scientific journals towards the end of this book).

• You don’t need to be a Buddhist monk or come from India or Asia to meditate.

• You don’t need to change any of your current ideologies or beliefs to meditate.

• You don’t need to learn Buddhism or any other religion to meditate.

• You don’t have to change your daily schedule and/or routines at any time or day in order to meditate.

• You don’t have to take an hour of your everyday busy life in the morning and at night to sit alone and be quiet.

• Meditation can be achieved at any one moment doing whatever it is you’re doing at anyone time. Explained throughout this book.

• The majority of the population on Earth is influenced by the auto-suggestions of the Default Mode Network.

• The auto-complete of the Default Mode Network is responsible for most of the suffering on this planet.

• You never know what your next thought will be.

• If you don’t know what the next thought will be, that only means that you’re not the one doing the thinking.

• If you don’t control your mind, then it has control over you.

• Meditation is the only way to stop the influence from the Default Mode Network.

• Anyone in the world can be taught to rewire their brains by focusing their attention on their surroundings in order to stop the advances of influence from the Default Mode Network (Primitive Egoic Mind). Follow my techniques explained throughout this book.

• Meditation is easy. 10 year olds can learn. So can you!

• This transformation is available to ANYONE that is willing to stop their unaware bondage to their Primitive Egoic Mind or Default Mode Network of unconscious thinking.

The science journals provided conclusively prove when there's a decrease in the function of the Default Mode Network, the brain rewires, and makes new connections and associations. I believe it's what the mystics were referring to as GOD. The Default Mode Network is the function of the brain that's responsible for the self-conversation / self-monologue that happens inside everyone's mind.

There have been 3 proven ways to decrease the Default Mode function: Psilocybin, LSD, and meditation. All of them are temporary. Except meditation. BUT ONLY IF practiced throughout the entire day, like my program shown in the book.

I recently saw a documentary on Thich Nhat Han. He explained how Buddhism prevailed in society for some time and there was peace. It was his life's work to bring the ideology back to awareness and practice. But our society is now being governed entirely by the Egoic self and with very little restraint. And there are no new plans for how to curb the suffering imposed by the self on almost the entire population (except for medications).

Unfortunately, Buddhism is an ideology in itself. And even though it's also a way to connectedness, most Buddhist believe Enlightenment is only for the Buddha.

Not good! Everyone is most welcomed. Please!

Get your brain connected and see there are no such ideals within.
