Debt is a dirty word. Modern society has accepted being in debt as the norm. It has become a plague that is impossible to eradicate, and it affects individuals, families, and nations negatively.
Despite growing debts at lightning speed, not much is being done to stop them. With this book, I share my experience with debt and show how, through a combination of strong values, hard work, and taking appropriate action, I escaped debt, something I could never have imagined.
As a migrant worker with all odds against me, raising four biological children and two adopted children, and supporting my late sibling’s families in Zambia, my lot was endless financial troubles and the shame that comes in watching those dear to me borrowing and not being able to repay, as well as dealing with bailiffs and other legal troubles.
