birder4106: Actually a non-fiction book. But much more: the letters are very good literature, a portrait of the times and mores, a description of the (German-language) literary scene of its time, a story of love and separation, a war of the Roses. One could list even more. Eigentlich ein Sachbuch. Aber noch viel mehr: Die Briefe sind sehr gute Literatur, ein Zeit- und Sittengemälde, Beschrieb des (deutschsprachigen) Literaturbetriebs ihrer Zeit, eine Liebes- und Trennungsgeschichte, ein Rosenkrieg. Man könnte noch mehr aufzählen. @anglemark: You are right, the book genre is nonfiction. But the Letters are litature at its best. Sie haben insofern recht, dass das Buch ein Sachbuch ist. Aber die Briefe sind Literatur vom Feinsten.
