- WordMaven : It became a quest to finish this novel. Wilkie Collins never wrote a sentence he couldn't stretch to 4 times its natural length, and I hate him for it. Took me 9 months to finish this beast, and when I read the Big Reveal, all I could think was, "that's it? That's the big shocker?" Pardon my French but bitch, please.

- anglemark : This isn't fiction.birder4106: Actually a non-fiction book. But much more: the letters are very good literature, a portrait of the times and mores, a description of the (German-language) literary scene of its time, a story of love and separation, a war of the Roses. One could list even more. @anglemark: You are right, the book genre is nonfiction. But the Letters are litature at its best.
