Explications: PitcherBooks : Another tale of dysfunctional family with a dreary, depressing look at divorce, mental illness, child sexual abuse, along with the various repercussions including - but not limited to - the self-flagellation of angst, self-pity, guilt and suffering. A recounting of living a gray half-life with a touch of redemption at the end.. If, like Oprah, you are into that sort of read, go for it. Not my cup of tea. Great cover art tho. For really well-done, eminently readable, and inspiring books on similar subjects, read "'Lullabies for Little Criminals" by Heather O'Neill and "The Glass Castle: A Memoir" by Jeannette Walls instead.
