Explications
aulsmith : I don't remember that much being in a boarding school.
CurrerBell: Only chapters five through nine (and to a degree also chapter ten) are the "boarding school chapters" at Lowood Institute, but they are so very memorable for Helen Burns (Charlotte's memorialization of her deceased eldest sister, Maria) as well as the villainous character of Miss Scatcherd. Far more realistic than anything Dickens ever did!

Explications
CurrerBell : Too mushy and sentimental for my personal taste. Also, I much prefer novels that focus on the students rather than on the teachers.
