Porua: The crimes of H. H. Holmes filled me with a sense of dread and loneliness. Intertwined with this macabre tale is the struggle to bring the spectacular 1893 World's Columbian Exposition to life. That may sound dull, but trust me it isn't!

Porua: A cold war era thriller from the queen of crime? I did not have much hope for this one. But it turned out to be surprisingly suspenseful! Victoria Jones is one of the pluckiest Christie heroines I have met.

Porua: How Christie managed to create such convoluted yet believable plots is beyond me. Unlike other works of Christie, this is not going to be a book I am going to return to again and again. It is one of her finest, and one of her most disquieting too.
