Explications
ReneeGKC: One of the more perfectly satisfying novels I've read in a long time. A man and a woman, who briefly dated 27 years previously, find themselves seated next to each other on the 6:41 am train to Paris. Each has undergone profound inner & outer changes, but both vividly remember their last painful parting during a long London weekend. Exposition of both characters is via first person stream of consciousness, easy to follow, easy to shift. Beautiful writing, beautiful translation. Not stupid, a book for grown-ups, the girl on this train way better than the girl on that train.
