Founded in 2007, the Man Asian Literary Prize is an annual award for the best novel of the previous years. Originally, it was awarded to a novel not yet published in English; as of 2010, it will be afficher plus awarded to the best Asian novel published in English or translated into English. The objectives of the award are: "To bring exciting new Asian authors to the attention of the world literary community; To facilitate publishing and translation of Asian literature in and into English; and To highlight Asia's developing role in world literature."
