Physical Biology: From Atoms to Medicine par Ahmed Zewail
Although this is definitely designed for people currently in the field, there are a lot of interesting ideas in here. For example, one can get a sense of the directions in which the field is tending to go, even without understanding some of the complex mathematics/physics/chem. It's nice that there are many authors, since some are better than others! A good book.
