The Angry Little Puffin par Timothy Young

A cranky puffin is stuck with the penguins at the zoo, where people flow by and admire the "funny-looking," "sweet," "kooky little penguin." The poor puffin loses it - until one little girl with her dad in tow sees him and recognizes him for who and what he is (offering a quick education to the reader on the differences between puffins and penguins as well). Even after the girl and her dad walk away, and new people come up and mis-identify him yet again as a penguin, the puffin is left with hearts for eyes.
