This is an excellent, if abstruse, reference book, which is of little reading interest. Most of the book is taken up by unit musters, lists of participants in the war organized by counties, and an extended section of footnotes which refer back to the body of the book (which is probably longer than the main part of the book). It took me an hour or two to read the material I found interesting, viz., a portrait gallery with brief captions of Texan generals, a detailed chronology of the war in Texas, the election returns for the secession referendum, and a few of the appended documents.… (plus d'informations)
