I read these poems, this book, very slowly. I want to let them seep into me and I don’t want them to end. I was drawn at first too Hilaire's poem to Brigit, who is among many things a goddess of poetry, but each subsequent poem that I read speaks to my joy in words and my experience of life. This is exceptional poetry from Welsh writer Hilaire Wood.

Hilaire writes with a visceral beauty of honeycombs and portal stones, of naming, and goddesses, the language of pain, and plums.
