this is going to be the best thing i read in 2023. already calling it.. but !!! the writing is clever and we are here for the tragedy! the thrill. the pain. the agony. i loved the juxtaposition between the two main character - a boy that feels nothing meets a boy who feels too much. in the prologue it states that, “I won’t tell you whether it has a happy ending or a tragic ending… neither you nor I nor anyone can ever really know whether a story is happy or tragic.” and i think this sums up the book perfectly. it is sad at times, but there is still hope and happiness. the book toes the line between both very well and highlights the complexities of life. the first half is perfect and while i thought the second half seemed a bit rushed in comparison, the ending has good closure. i loved the short chapters because it kept the book moving at a good pace… (plus d'informations)
