- Mary Wings (b. 1949) is a San Francisco-based writer, artist, and musician. She is known for authoring the world's first lesbian underground comic book, Come Out Comix, and for her Emma Victor series of mystery novels. Her Gothic novel Divine Victim earned her the 1993 Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Mystery. Before becoming a famous author, Wings studied at Shimer College and later also at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. (from Shimer College Wiki)

Narrada en primera persona y ambientada en Boston, la historia comienza cuando Emma Victor, que atiende una línea de ayuda, recibe la llamada de una mujer que pide verla. Cuando acude a la cita, la encuentra muerta. Se inicia así una típica historia policial al mejor estilo hard boiled, donde la protagonista denota en su carácter y en su proceder claras reminiscencias chandlerianas.
Fun and interesting easy read mystery novel. Includes Lesbian PI and lesbian main characters. I am not a msytery reader but this was a will researched and interesting read. I will be reading Ms. Wings other mystery novels.
