These are the letters of perhaps one of the most famous couples of the twentieth century: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The letters in the first half of the book are mainly from Wallis to her Aunt Bessie. It's very interesting to watch the progression of events, from Wallis's first meeting with her future husband to the urgency of the Abdication. It's fascinating stuff and well worth anyone's time and effort to read it.

I really, really enjoyed this book. Though the Duchess tells us her version of the story, it was an extremely interesting and enjoyable read. Of course, the story should be taken with a grain of salt as the Duchess only tells us what she wished us to know, keeping things half-hidden and leaving parts out.

Any Windsor fan should have this for their collection.

A wonderful book much better written that I thought it would (not sure if it's ghost written or not), very old school but in the best way. A look at the American and British upper crust in the first half of the twentieth century. The Abdication crisis is strictly from her perspective and not really from anyone elses. The book is alot more than just the 1930's though. The only thing I thought was lacking was their visit to nazi Germany, it is mentioned but I felt it was very rushed and the explanation, if true, seems extremely naive. Overall I found it very enlightening and while I'm a man it has the feel of a book written for Ladies (and the occasional Gentleman)by a Lady.… (plus d'informations)
