I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an unbiased and honest review

If you are a dozen roses, seen The Notebook multiple times kind of individual, then Summer's Temptation is for you. Cassie is currently suffering from a heartbreaking end to her relationship with Wyatt, the man she saw herself marring. She got so depressed she almost lost her scholarship and dropped out of school. Deciding that risking her heart is too dangerous, she decides she will not be in a relationship until she graduates in two years. This is all fine and dandy until she starts to miss the physical side of being with someone and starts to find herself liking one of her professors a little too much.

Enter Tyler, the next door neighbor. He lives with Cassie's friend boyfriend and is a womanizer. Cassie and Tyler meet a year ago when instead of drawing a caricature of her, like Cassie's boyfriend paid him to do; he drew her as if she just finished some rather passionate bed play. Cassie see's him as a player but also can't keep her eyes off of him whenever he is in the room. Cassie's friends decide they have the perfect solution and tell her to get herself a "hugbuddy", I'm sure you all can figure out what that is a polite term for. (Ok here is where I'm going to mention something that made me a tad uncomfortable, the slut shaming. It's discussed multiple times how no one wants to be seen as a slut and then instances of the women saying what they constitute as a slut but really what is the magical number that makes a woman a slut? Is it one more than how many people I've slept with; is it one more than how many people you've slept with? Can we please stop degrading each other ladies? Anyway, Cassie mentions how being in a sorority is all a façade and it was wishy washy but faintly there enough to make me uncomfortable sometimes) Tyler's name gets put on the list and Cassie thinking she could never fall in love with him, decides he'd make a great option.

Is any of this new? No. Is this fairly predictable? Yes. It is also really enjoyable and I would call this a quintessential New Adult book; it's the type that would make you fall in love with the genre in the first place. The beginning is more of a slow burn, as we get introduced to the characters but I also would get a tingling in my spine whenever Tyler and Cassie would be together. It takes until about 37% in before Cassie and Tyler's relationship really starts but the build up and tension they have before only adds to it. This is all from Cassie's point of view and I did find myself missing Tyler's voice but the author does a pretty good job of relaying his actions, words, and body language to give you ideas into what he is thinking and feeling. You'll feel it every time Tyler looks away as Cassie blindly makes a callous remark about how she could never develop real feelings for him or deals with the professor she thinks she could love. Cassie and Tyler's relationship is a pleasure to read about not only because of their fun banter but as they go through the stages of squishy new puppy dog love, naivety, and the uncertainty, it all feels so authentic for their age. The secondary characters all add a little something in their own ways too, especially Philosopher Dan who is a homeless man on campus Cassie buys breakfast for a couple days a week. His words of wisdom that he doles out, oddly, seemed to help keep the pace and story moving along.

This story is sweet, light, and I found it very refreshing that there was no one I wanted to prescribe anger management to. This has more than the average steamy scenes for New Adult, so don't worry about your toes not curling. The ending is a weak cliffy as it's obvious the story of their relationship is not done yet. Tyler will also make you ache for him but hot enough that as you give him a hug your hands will probably wander down to grip his butt and Cassie will probably make you remember or commiserate with of a time in your life where everything was new and confusing. This book needs to be more popular, read it if you at all like New Adult or just want an endearing story.

This is the first book I've read by Ashley Lynn Willis and first I would say thank you for the free copy to review.

I enjoyed her writing style and will definately keep her on my list to read any future books she writes.

So the story is about Justin and Mandy, Justin is a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer and Mandy is trying to live life after surviving breast cancer and heartbreak. Of course you fall in love with both charecters and want them to live happy ever after. I didn't stop reading this book last night and found myself up till 4 am trying to finish it. Sex scences were great.

It is a paranormal romance book but unlike other paranormal books this is not the focus of the book. It was a great read and I gave it 4 stars, I would of given it 4.5 if available to do that.

Mandy is a survivor of breast cancer. But also a survivor of heartbreak. She feels she'll never fall in love again. But if Justin has anything to say about it - he is gonna make her his. He's had a thing for her, for a long while and he's not giving up now that she's single.

Beautiful story and definitely a keeper. I was absolutely engrossed with this book that I ended up finishing in less than a day. Contemporary romance isn't my go to genre but I loved this story and the two lead characters Mandy and Justin. They were engaging and pulled me in fast. The Calling is heartwarming but also suspenseful and filled with danger. The story also has a light paranormal feel that will interest mythology fans. No matter what genre of romance you enjoy, you should check this one out.… (plus d'informations)
