Anne Hollingsworth Wharton (1845–1928)

Anne Hollingsworth Wharton was born at Southampton Furnace, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles Wharton and his wife Mary McLanahan Boggs. She was educated at a private school in Philadelphia. She wrote books about the social history of the Colonial and Revolutionary periods of the USA, as well as numerous magazine articles, and served as the historian of the Colonial Dames of America.
