I'm a sucker for these type of books, anxious to see what I've missed and what other people might say about them. When watching these movies, I keep in mind that the filmmakers are invariably trying to do the best they can with practically no budget, and often succeed far beyond what the budget deserves. Even when they use a bubble machine for an other-worldly background effect or bisected ping pong balls for alien eyes. Long a subscriber to Weldon's late, lamented Psychotronic Video Magazine, I love his thorough capsule coverage for a large field of low-budget exploitation films. Every time you sit down with this book, you'll find yourself instantly wrapped up for at least a half hour in mini reviews and photo captions. Well-illustrated. Highly recommended for B-movie fans.… (plus d'informations)

This is a sequel to Weldon's previous Psychotronic guide, filling in gaps and adding films that were made after the original guide was published. As such, it isn't as interesting as the original book, nor are the illustrations as effective. However, it is still an essential work if you're interested in these oddball films.

The best guide to weird movies, horror and otherwise, ever published. There is a sequel that covers additional films, but it lacks the depth of this volume. Great pictures as well.

Excellent capsule reviews covering a wide variety of genre films, mostly horror and sf but also some noir and cult films as well. The second volume covers mostly post-1983 films but also includes lots of older ones the first one didn't cover. They don't repeat, so both are essential.
