A good primer. Gave me some good ideas about strategies and tactics for local work. Sobering questions and helpful hints. Interesting brief histories on local music scenes.

A bit behind the times in terms of marketing, given the social media explosion. Also, many typos and grammatical errors. Otherwise, a worthwhile read.

I found his book readable & usually interesting. The author's personal vignettes were valuable. It is a pretty episodic & impressionistic history, which combines opinion & memoir with a recounting of events. The survey chapters are (inevitably) limited and we can all find artists/songs/events that we think shouldn't have been left out. Weissman has a readable style but it isn't good writing, there are grammatical errors & bad sentence constructs throughout. I was also surprised at the number of typographical errors, including spelling a name differently in 2 places in the same paragraph.… (plus d'informations)
