Kim Watters injects conflict, compassion, and understanding in her love story Healing Hearts. Weaving a tale about a woman who as a child was put into the foster care system and always longed for the simple life of having a stable home and a solid family.

Sarah Churchill leaves her native San Francisco and relocates to the small Northern California town of Greer where she hopes to leave her past and start anew working as a waitress and taking classes at a local community college. Her plan is derailed while bike riding and a stray dog darts in her path causing her to hit him. Small enough to put in her bike basket, she rushes the pooch to the nearest veterinarian, Dr. Grant Morrison, an encounter that changes her life permanently.

Watters creates a heart warming tale reflective of the writing style of Sherryl Woods and Jill Shalvis as Churchill stirs a protective instinct in Morrison that will tug at female readers emotions. Her hero Grant Morrison can fulfill Sarah’s need for a home and family as he has a stable profession and his family gatherings are reminiscent of the stories rumored about the Kennedy’s when the clan congregates at the family compound in Hyannis Port.

Watters injects conflict in Sarah and Grant’s blossoming romance when Greer’s deputy sheriff discovers a police record on Churchill dating back seven years. Sarah fears rejection and is ready to leave this new life when divine intervention steps in the form of an elderly woman at the Greyhound station who convinces Sarah to go back and face her fears. She does and is rewarded with a proposal from Grant.

Watters is adept at smoothing out conflicts and delivering a happily ever after ending in the vane of screenwriter Leo McCarey. Some scenes are drawn out but those are balanced by flashbacks loaded with vital information which give the characters depth. Healing Hearts is a cozy book that’ll reinforce the belief love can conquer the fear of past human transgressions any day of the week.

A story of Faith Callahn who elopes and leaves the small town of Greer. Fast forward 12 years and she is back with a son and a missing husband. She comes back to help out her folks at the hardware store. Enter Adam Quinn, a friend who grew up with Faith and her husband, and who is suppose to be keeping an eye on Faith to see if her "less than upright" husband reappears. It is a good fast read and although you can see where the story is heading, it does keep you hanging until the end to discover who the bad/good guys really are.… (plus d'informations)
