In The Chosen Baby, James and Martha Brown decide they want to adopt. They call up Mrs. White at the adoption agency and they discuss adopting a child and the process. Mrs. White visits their home and tells them she will call them as soon as a child is available for them. Months go by, finally they get a call and they are asked to come meet a little baby boy. Once they meet him they decide he is perfect and he will be named Peter. Peter moved into Martha and Roger’s house. He is a perfect, healthy baby boy. He starts crawling and walking and getting older. One day while playing outside he plays with a little girl. So Martha and Roger decide they want to give Peter a baby sister. They call Mrs. White and she says she will call them when a baby girl is available. A year goes by and they finally get a call. Martha and Roger adopt a baby girl and name her Mary. Peter loves his baby sister. As they grew older their parents tell them stories of their adoption. I recommend this book to grades k-3 or to anyone with a family member who is adopted.
